Louisiana – Frost creeps across lawns and rooftops as the air turns sharply colder, even along the normally mild Gulf Coast. The chill feels out of place, and by this weekend, it becomes dangerous. Cold that starts quietly now will deepen fast, catching many off guard across southeast Louisiana.
According to the National Weather Service in New Orleans, an Extreme Cold Watch is in effect from late Friday night through Sunday morning. Wind chills could fall as low as 5 degrees above zero in parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
