It is impossible, in good conscience, to recommend the Krewe du Vieux Mardi Gras parade that will brazenly rove the streets of the French Quarter on Jan. 31.
The procession of mule-drawn mini-floats, costumed marchers and abundant brass bands is a prurient, politically parochial affair that should be avoided by the sensitive and sensible population of New Orleans.
