Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, who first became a New Orleans musician of note when his trombone was taller than he was, is turning 40 this year. He’s celebrating in a big way.
On April 25, the first Saturday of the 2026 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, he’ll preside over “Shorty Turns 40,” a star-studded birthday concert at the Saenger Theatre.
The show is a beefed-up 10th edition of the “Treme Threauxdown,” which he’s staged at the Saenger during Jazz Fest for the past decade…
