A sanitation worked stepped out to empty a dumpster into his garbage truck on Lake Avenue in Metairie early Thursday morning when he overheard the sounds of someone screaming and banging.
The worker quickly realized that there was someone trapped among the garbage in the back of his truck, according to Jefferson Parish Officials.
Members of the East Bank Consolidated Fire Department’s Station 15 responded and had to extricate the man from the truck, the parish said.
Apparently, the man had been asleep inside another dumpster in New Orleans when it was emptied into the truck. The vehicle then made its way into Metairie…
