NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The family of a man killed in last year’s New Year’s Day terror attack is calling for stricter Bourbon Street traffic closures.
Monisha James, whose uncle Terrence “Terry” Kennedy was one of 14 people killed when a terrorist drove a pickup truck down Bourbon Street on Jan. 1, 2025, said current Carnival security measures are inadequate. This comes after cars drove freely down parts of Bourbon Street during Sunday’s 1 p.m. Krewe of Barkus dog parade.
“The idea that they won’t keep those barricades up and keep vehicles off the street … it’s really, like, disrespectful,” James said…
