When you’re looking for a meal along Freret Street, the Uptown restaurant row has variety of options, from tacos and smash burgers to bagels, deep dish pizza, oysters, gumbo, pho and specialty hot dogs.
But during Carnival, one common thread emerges as normal business suddenly shifts to what many here call “crazy busy.”
“Lundi Gras has always been the busiest day of the year for us, and it’s only gotten crazier, and it’s great,” said Adam Biderman, owner of The Company Burger (4600 Freret St.), who has seen 14 Carnival seasons play out since opening in 2011. “From Muses Thursday through the weekend, it’s just game on.”
