NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Mayor Helena Moreno rode in the Zulu parade Tuesday morning, marking her first participation in the Mardi Gras tradition as New Orleans mayor.
Moreno rode atop NOPD Officer Teddy, a four-year-old horse from the mounted patrol unit.
“It’s really one of the greatest honors of my life to have the opportunity to do this. Very few people get the chance to do this, to do this as mayor,” Moreno said during the parade.
