Child allegedly hit by alcohol bottle from Zulu float on Mardi Gras Day

NEW ORLEANS — The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club is investigating an incident in which a rider on Float 26 allegedly threw an alcohol bottle from the second story of the float on Mardi Gras Day, striking a 4-year-old child.

“We are deeply disturbed by this report and extend our sincere concern to the child and family involved,” the krewe said in a statement. “The safety of children, families, paradegoers, and the public is of paramount importance to Zulu.”
