The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has reported another step forward in the Violet homicide investigation, with the apprehension of a third suspect tied to the fatal shooting that claimed a young life last week. Arthur Coleman, 20, now faces charges as principal to second-degree murder joining the ranks of previously arrested suspects Tyreese Riley, 23, and Malajah Lougin, 19; arrests stem from an incident that occurred on Feb. 12, when deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on Colonial Boulevard in Violet, where a 17-year-old male was found critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds in a local hospital.
As the case unfolds, the search for justice presses on with two suspects still at large – Marcus Venible, 23, is wanted for second-degree murder, and Maliek Pickens, 21, faces a warrant for principal to second-degree murder. Authorities are urging anyone with insights to come forward and contribute to the ongoing investigation. According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office’s social media post, “The investigation remains ongoing.” and the community’s cooperation is deemed essential in capturing the remaining fugitives.
