NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Two New Orleans Police Department officers, under internal investigation after Fox 8 found them spending time at home while claiming to be working, had their timesheets edited thousands of times, according to internal records obtained by Fox 8.
Sgt. Henry Burke clocked at least 4,529 hours last year, according to NOPD payroll records. That requires working more than 12 hours a day, every single day of the year. Burke’s overtime hours exceeded his regular time in 2025, with at least 2,300 hours of overtime elevating his $87,254 base salary more than threefold to $282,200.
Public Integrity Bureau investigators said Burke was receiving compensation for “Mid-City Security District overtime” on multiple days when Fox 8’s undercover camera caught him at home while he was on the clock.
