NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Several businesses along Claiborne Avenue closed Monday following a water main break that sent floodwater and silt into nearby storefronts.
At China Wall restaurant, an employee mopped floors after squeegeeing out flood water and silt. Seth Simoneaux, a cashier at the restaurant, said the break pushed about an inch of muck inside, reaching as far as the kitchen.
“People are going to be coming in, stepping on all of the mud and stuff,” Simoneaux said. “They’ll be tracking it in and these people are ruthless. They’ll keep sweeping and mopping all day behind people everyday.”…
