NOPD: Suspect accused of stealing backpack with MacBook and iPad from coffee shop

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is looking for a suspect who is accused of stealing a backpack that contained a MacBook laptop and an iPad tablet from a Mid-City coffee shop. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the crime happened a little before 6:15 in the evening on Feb. 12 at the Bean Gallery on North Carrollton Avenue. The NOPD also released security camera footage that shows the suspect.

In the first clip released by police, the suspect is seen carrying a black backpack and what appears to be a paper bag. The video was recorded at the coffee shop’s cash register, and the man also appears to have a cup of water.

The second clip shows the man entering the store later and walking to a chair where he grabs somebody else’s gray backpack and walks out the door. According to police, the gray backpack contained a MacBook laptop and an iPad tablet…
