Earning $121K is now considered middle class in Louisiana, study says

LOUISIANA (KTAL/KMSS) – A new study from SmartAsset found that Louisiana households earning $121,972 are now considered middle class.

The study ranked Louisiana 48th in the country for the highest income a household can earn and still be considered middle class. To cross the lower threshold into the middle class, Louisiana households must earn $40,657. For New Orleans, the middle-class income range is $39,214 to $117,642.
