A quiet Sunday afternoon in New Orleans East was interrupted when a man was shot on the 7100 block of Downman Road in the Pines Village neighborhood, according to police. The man was taken to a local hospital with at least one gunshot wound, and authorities have not released any details about his condition or a possible suspect.

According to WDSU New Orleans, the shooting happened at about 1:50 p.m. Officers transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, and reporter Metia Carroll noted in a story updated at 3:38 p.m. that police had not provided any additional information at that time.
