NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As Sheriff-elect Michelle Woodfork prepares to become Sheriff at the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, she announced the launch of her Transition Team.
A ceremony will be held on March 10 at Southern University at New Orleans, with the theme “A New Era of Accountability.” There, Woodfork will outline her strategic framework to “guide the future of the OPSO.”
Woodfork won the election in Oct. 2025 against incumbent, Sheriff Susan Hutson, with 53% of the vote and no runoff.
