NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is warning the public of an impersonation scam.
The NOPD’s Director of Communications, Officer Reese Harper, states the department was made aware of an individual impersonating an NOPD officer.

The person has allegedly been contacting individuals falsely claiming that a warrant for their arrest will be issued unless a payment is made.
NOPD officials are reminding the public that “law enforcement officers do not call individuals to demand payment in order to avoid arrest or resolve warrants.”…
