Accountant testifies crash attorney Vanessa Motta’s income surged to millions

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Testimony continued Monday (March 9) in the federal staged crash fraud trial involving New Orleans personal injury attorneys Vanessa Motta and Jason Giles, with a former accountant describing major changes in Motta’s finances after she became a lawyer.

The trial, now in its second week in federal court, centers on allegations that attorneys and others orchestrated schemes in which drivers intentionally crashed into 18-wheelers and then filed fraudulent lawsuits.

Motta, Giles, their law firms and an alleged co-conspirator face multiple fraud-related charges tied to those alleged staged accidents.
