Former BRPD chief Murphy Paul selected for New Orleans sheriff’s transition team

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The newly elected Orleans Parish Sheriff has appointed a familiar face to serve on her transition team as she prepares to take office.

Murphy Paul, the former chief of the Baton Rouge Police Department, will serve as a co-chair of sheriff-elect Michelle Woodfork’s transition team, nearly three years after his departure from BRPD.

According to a news release from Woodfork’s office, the transition team is made up of co-chairs who are “respected community and law enforcement leaders, charged with ensuring a seamless handoff and laying a foundation rooted in accountability, transparency and trust.”…
