Gulf Coast Freeze Watch: Temperatures Could Fall to 26° Across Louisiana-Mississippi Tuesday Morning

Slidell, Louisiana – Strong northwest winds will sweep across southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast early Monday, followed by a sharp overnight temperature drop that could bring a rare freeze to the region.

According to the National Weather Service in New Orleans, a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday for coastal and nearby inland communities including Slidell, Mandeville, Ponchatoula, Gulfport, Biloxi, and Pascagoula. Winds are expected to reach 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, which may knock down small tree branches and cause isolated power outages…
