A Harvey man is behind bars after an early morning shooting in Marrero left a 39-year-old man wounded and in the hospital in stable condition. Deputies identified the suspect as 31-year-old Demond Poole of Harvey and say they spotted him fleeing the scene, later recovering a firearm. Poole was booked on multiple felony counts and is being held on more than $360,000 in bond.

Deputies were called out around 4:30 a.m. Monday to the area near Field Street and Eiseman Avenue, according to NOLA. The outlet reports the 39-year-old victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was driven to a hospital in stable condition, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
