NOPD Hunts ‘Bowleg’ After Encampment Street Home Invasion

New Orleans police are asking residents to keep an eye out for a 21-year-old man they say climbed through a window during a home invasion in the 4200 block of Encampment Street, then took off in a black SUV.

The New Orleans Police Department has identified the suspect as Evin “Bowleg” Murthil and says an arrest warrant is in hand on counts of home invasion, domestic abuse battery and theft. Investigators say the incident happened on Oct. 10, 2025, when Murthil allegedly forced his way through a window and assaulted the victim.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Murthil is accused of stealing the victim’s cellphone before fleeing the scene in an unknown make-and-model black SUV. Police have released his identifying information and are asking anyone who knows where he is to speak up…
