I-12 westbound near Mile Marker 77 reopens after closure due to 18-wheeler car carrier fire

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Interstate 12 westbound near Mile Marker 77 before the Lacombe exit reopened after a closure due to an 18-wheeler car carrier fire on Thursday, March 26.

St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1 and No. 3 crews said they were actively working to extinguish the existing fire. There were no injuries reported in this incident.

All motorists were advised to expect major delays on their morning commutes. St. Tammany fire crews said drivers should use alternate routes and give first responders space to do their jobs…
