NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – While the last week or so has been on the pleasant side between the above-average temperatures for this time of year and lots of sunshine, it’s not doing southeast Louisiana or southern Mississippi any good in terms of the latest Drought Monitor.
According to the Drought Monitor released on Thursday, the South Shore is seeing a growing “extreme” (RED) drought area particularly across Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes.
The rest of the South Shore, I-10/I-12 corridor along with a majority of St. Tammany and the southern tip of Tangipahoa parishes are “severe” (ORANGE)…
