METAIRIE, La. — A Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detective shot and wounded a person who allegedly pulled a gun on him Tuesday, authorities said.
According to a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office, the incident happened just before noon in the 2500 block of Pasadena Avenue in Metairie, where narcotics detectives were conducting an investigation. Officials say that at the time, the detective was in the process of arresting two other suspects who were on the ground. Then a third person approached the detective, pulled out a gun with an extended magazine and pointed it at him.
The detective then pulled out his gun and fired several shots, wounding the suspect. Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said he was taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans. He has not been identified…
