New Restaurant Kandy’s Bets Big on NOLA-Meets-France Flavors in the CBD

Kandy’s, a new sit-down restaurant promising a blend of classic New Orleans and French flavors, is headed to the Central Business District, taking over the former Prime NOLA space at 514 S. Rampart Street. The concept pairs elevated Creole-style dishes with a full beverage program of beer, wine and craft cocktails, and it is set up as a traditional dining room instead of counter service. On paper, the refresh looks more like a polish than a gut job, with decorative paneling, new floors and modern lighting standing in for major construction work. Once it opens, Kandy’s will give the Poydras–Rampart corridor yet another option for downtown diners and nearby hotel guests.
