CHALMETTE, La. (WVUE) – NASA’s Artemis II moon mission made a successful launch Wednesday (April 1), delighting spectators at a watch party at Nunez Community College.
Artemis II is carrying four astronauts on an approximately 10-day mission around the moon and back to Earth. The mission is the first crewed deep-space flight in more than 50 years and the first human trip toward the moon since 1972.
The astronauts aboard Artemis II are Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen. NASA says the mission is designed to test life-support systems and critical deep-space operations before later Artemis missions attempt lunar landings…
