NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Storm chances ramp up again this weekend across southeast Louisiana and coastal Mississippi, with the most active weather arriving Saturday into early Sunday.
Saturday will be warm and humid, with highs climbing into the 80s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. A few of these storms could become strong, producing gusty winds and heavy downpours. While widespread severe weather is not expected, an isolated stronger storm can’t be ruled out.
The main round of rain arrives late Saturday night into Sunday morning as a cold front moves through the region.
