ORLEANS PARISH, La. — This weekend, Super Sunday is coming to the Westbank, featuring culture bearers, entertainment, and dozens of vendors.
What’s called the “Westbank West Fest Super Sunday Family Day in the Park” runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. It kicks off with a parade, featuring the Algiers MoHawk Hunters Indians and Westbank Steppers. The two groups step off near the intersection of Lebouef and Ptolemy streets, then turning left on LB Landry Avenue, Newton Street, and Teche Street, before ending at McDonogh Park.
Hot Boy Ronald, DJ Jubilee, DJ Big Tymer, and 5.0 Funk Band are just some of the festival’s entertainment highlights. Festivalgoers can also shop from more than 30 vendors, offering food and local creations.
Organizers say the festival is meant to celebrate the Algiers community and culture, while taking a stand against crime…
