NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — At a motion hearing, a trial date was set for eight of the 10 inmates who escaped the Orleans Justice Center in May 2025, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office announced on Friday.
At the April 17 hearing, it was reported that probable cause was found on the eight inmates that were deemed competent, which includes Dkenan Dennis, Gary Price, Robert Moody, Lenton Vanburen Jr., Jermaine Donald, Antoine Massey, Leo Tate Sr. and Derrick Groves.
A trial date set was for Tuesday, Sept. 15. The inmates are headed back to Angola.
Out of the 10 inmates, the two that were previously found incompetent were Kendall Myles and Corey E. Boyd. The attorney general’s office reported that they both remain at Angola as they continue to receive treatment…
