NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department got the call in the early morning hours of May 12, 2012. A man returned to his home in Broadmoor and reported finding his wife lying in a pool of blood. She died the next day.
Final suspect of six arrested in Slidell McDonald’s shooting case
The woman was Sandra Peters Jefferson, and the man who found her, her husband, was Archie Jefferson, the brother of former congressman William Jefferson.
Initially police believed Sandra Jefferson had been shot, but an autopsy showed she’d been beaten to death. Inside the house, police said they found multiple weapons but none of them could be tied to the crime. They also said there was no sign of forced entry.
