Final suspect remains on the loose in St. Claude gunfight killing

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — On April 7, a man was shot and killed when he happened to drive through a gunfight in the St. Claude neighborhood. Two weeks ago, police announced they’d made six arrests.

But a seventh suspect remains on the loose. The search for him is the latest case to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

A murder that stunned New Orleans remains unsolved 14 years later

The gunfight happened at the corner of North Claiborne Avenue and Desire Street at 5:00 p.m. Police say it started during a narcotics-related dispute.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 41-year-old Michael Garcia. Police say they found Garcia inside of a car with a gunshot wound to his head. He died at the hospital…
