COVINGTON — District Attorney Collin Sims announces that a St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury returned true bills today, indicting five individuals in connection with an extensive narcotics distribution network that funneled kilogram quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine from Mexico into the Northshore and Greater New Orleans areas.
The following individuals were indicted:
Ernesto Alonso Ruiz, 47, of San Juan, TX, charged with
- Conspiracy to Distribute 28 Grams or More of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine (Over 60 Kilograms)
- Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
Michael Anthony Gibson, 37, of New Orleans, LA, charged with
- Conspiracy to Distribute 28 Grams or More of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine (Over 60 Kilograms)
- Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
Miguel Angel Olquin, 31, of Penitas, TX, charged with
- Conspiracy to Distribute 28 Grams or More of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine (Over 60 Kilograms)
- Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
Lindsey J. Daniels, 53, of Franklinton, LA, charged with
- Conspiracy to Distribute 28 Grams or More of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine (Over 3 Kilograms)
Christopher L. Fendley, 51, of Franklinton, LA, charged with
- Conspiracy to Distribute 28 Grams or More of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
The indictment follows a comprehensive investigation into a conspiracy active between October 2025 and May 2026. Prosecutors allege the defendants conspired to distribute more than 79 kilograms of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances…
