A sixth person has died in connection to the outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in a Manhattan neighborhood.
The New York City Health Department confirmed the death of the sixth person Tuesday. In all, 90 people have tested positive for the disease as a result of the cluster found on the Upper East Side, six of whom were still in the hospital.
It comes days after it was found that more than 50 buildings on the Upper East Side were on a list of addresses that tested positive for the live legionella bacteria, according to the health department. While more addresses could still be added to the list, the health department said, it did not mean any of the ones listed were the source of the Legionella exposure in the current cluster…
