Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are looking for a muscular suspect who attacked an elderly man across the street from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in broad daylight on Friday, Aug. 21, according to authorities.
The 67-year-old victim was in front of an apartment building at 33-53 82nd St. in Jackson Heights when a stranger approached and engaged him in a verbal dispute. The assailant became irate and the argument escalated into violence when he suddenly shoved the senior headfirst onto the sidewalk, police said, adding that the victim sustained lacerations to his head, elbows and knees. The elderly man also sustained a fractured wrist while trying to break his fall.
