The roads near P.S. 889 and M.S. 890 in Kensington are getting safety upgrades.
As part of the city’s expansion of School Safety Zones, the speed limit has been reduced from 20 mph to 15 mph. In addition, the section of Coney Island Avenue between Hinckley Place and Turner Place will receive a median to break up the crosswalk, painted curb extensions and standardized traffic directions on nearby roads.
