NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI was a no-show for New York City’s oversight hearing on AI, a “direct violation” of a subpoena, according to Council Speaker Julie Menin.
Menin issued the subpoena last week compelling the company to appear at the council hearing Monday morning. No one showed, she said.

According to New York State’s Civil Practice Law and Rules, failure to comply with a subpoena can result in fines and compulsion to appear by a sheriff. Should the person still refuse to testify, they can be sent to jail.
