Police said that the man, 23, was being treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue when officers realized that he had an active summons warrant for a traffic violation. At that point, he was placed in police custody.

At about 4 a.m., officials said that the man snuck out the hospital door.

The wanted man left the hospital wearing a gray hoodie with red lettering, gray sweatpants and no shoes, according to police.
