Arrest Made in Friday Shooting that Left Man Dead Inside Paterson Home

PATERSON, NJ – Law enforcement officials made a quick arrest in connection to a shooting incident that left a Union City man dead in a Paterson home on Friday.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In Charge Isa Abbassi, Alexander Gutierrez, 46, Paterson, is charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose.

A report of the incident said that at approximately 10:42 p.m. on Friday, Paterson Police Department Patrol units were advised by a witness that an individual was shot in a residence in the area of East 21st Street and 19th Avenue. Officers went to the location and discovered the victim, Logan Gonzalez, with a gunshot wound to his lower back. Gonzalez was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
