It was a lock that the Yankees would make some roster moves on Saturday morning. Starter Clarke Schmidt was expected to be activated and take the ball in the afternoon against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, and reliever Ian Hamilton was scheduled to finally return as well. Schmidt hasn’t pitched since May 26th due to a strained right lat, and Hamilton has been absent from the bullpen since June 16th with the exact same injury.
