NYC issues weather alert: Snowfall, slick roads possible this weekend

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The New York City Emergency Management Department (NYCEM) has issued a weather alert for Friday through Saturday. According to the latest National Weather Service (NWS) forecast, a wintery mix of rain and snow is predicted for the evening commute on Friday, which may produce slick conditions on untreated surfaces, although ice is not expected. The southern half of the city is expected to see regular rain.
