MTA Supervisor Hospitalized After Assault on Manhattan Subway, Passenger Charged in Violent Incident

As reported by ABC7 New York, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. yesterday on a northbound F train at the 6th Avenue Bryant Park stop. It began with a common courtesy request—a supervisor asking a rider to remove his bag from a seat to allow others to sit. However, the situation quickly escalated. The man responded not with compliance but with violence, spitting on and punching the MTA worker.

Witnesses on the platform were quick to react, and police officers detained the violent passenger once the train stopped. In the chaos of the event, taking the man into custody involved the suspect decking an MTA supervisor after he had spit on.
