Man hurls slurs and chases victim in East Harlem hate crime incident

Manhattan, NY – Police are searching for a suspect who shouted anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks and chased a man in East Harlem during a late-night confrontation earlier this summer.

The incident happened around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at East 104th Street and 3rd Avenue. A 28-year-old man was standing at the intersection when he was approached by an unidentified individual who made anti-LGBTQIA+ statements, hurled an empty milk carton at him, and then gave chase.

The victim was not injured. The suspect fled northbound on 3rd Avenue and has not been located…
