Mayoral Candidate Cuomo Unveils Plan to Lower Grocery Costs for New Yorkers

Approach is in contrast with fellow candidate Zohran Mamdani’s proposal for government-run grocery stores

Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for the mayor of New York City, recently detailed his plans to lower the costs of groceries for the New Yorkers who need it the most during a recent meeting with the United Bodegas of America.

The former governor of New York detailed his $250 million plan to provide grocery subsidies to the roughly 350,000 New Yorkers who are in need of assistance, but earn just enough not to qualify for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
