NEW YORK (PIX11) – Watch out for deer!
The New York Department of Motor Vehicles announced Thursday that hundreds of vehicle accidents involving deer have occurred in the New York City area.

New York State is warning residents to be extra cautious while driving this fall, as deer and moose become more active, according to the New York Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Environmental Conservation.
“Deer and moose are increasingly active this time of year and often cross roads throughout the state,” said DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton. “Deer and moose can be active any time of day, but their movement peaks at dusk and dawn. Motorists should be especially careful during these times and follow all important safety tips to avoid accidental encounters with wildlife while driving.”
