MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – At least two women were injured during an explosion inside a Midtown parking garage late Thursday night, according to the NYPD.
The FDNY said it happened on East 53rd Street between Lexington and 3rd avenues around 9 p.m. Firefighters believed a generator may have malfunctioned, causing it to explode.

Carlos Nanez, who witnessed the explosion, told PIX11 News he saw a metal vent launch into the air before it crashed down onto the two women.
“It was scary, it was very scary,” he said. “The first thing I did was call EMS, I called 911, for the girls because I saw the girl was not responding, not moving.”…
