New York Man Stabbed On Subway
Riding the subway always garners many incredible and often interesting yet sometimes off-putting stories. One never knows what to expect when they take a seat or stand when they take a ride. For some, that is part of the adventure, but for others, that can be terrifying. Such was the case in Queens, New York, when a man was riding the subway. He was riding the E train when a fellow passenger was talking on his phone, but was told he was doing so too loudly. That was when he was told to be quiet, and he did not appreciate this, so he opted for violence.
He ended up stabbing the fellow who was riding the E train with him, but before it progressed to that, he punched the man in the face. It seems he did not like being told to be quiet, so after he punched the passenger, he stabbed him in the abdomen. The names have not been released for the victim or the suspect, but there is a good reason for the latter remaining private. When the police came to the Jamaica Center/Parsons and Archer subway to investigate, the suspect took off.
As of now, New York authorities are trying to find out what exactly went down on that fateful day. They are also attempting to investigate where the suspect went and locate him to resolve this situation. Fortunately, the victim appears to be making a full recovery, which is all anyone could have hoped for. On the bright side, subway crimes are down about 4% overall, and hopefully, it will just keep going down. Sadly, this does not bode well for the lowering of crime, but it is still better than before.
A Sad Moment
Those who have heard about this story know it is a sad moment because it did not have to happen. The biggest statement is that the suspect could have just put on headphones. Now, that would not have made him speak quieter on the phone, but it would have been far more respectful. This was a common feeling among followers as they felt many should stop with speakerphones and start utilizing earbuds:
- How tragic! Unfortunately, this is not a surprise. Some unusual people have an entitlement to watch videos and take calls with loud volume. Please use your headphones folks.
It is all about respect and how so many public transit riders appear to lack it. The man on the New York City subway just wanted to ride in peace and landed in the hospital.
