‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Star Struck by Car and Killed in NYC Hours After Making Ominous Remark to Friend

Wenne Alton Davis was struck by an SUV while crossing Broadway at West 53rd Street in New York City on Monday, December 8, and died later that night, according to The New York Times.

The Durham, North Carolina native, 60 — who played a police officer on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2023, and appeared on Blindspot and New Amsterdam — also worked in security at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the star’s agent, Jamie Harris, told the outlet.

“She had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at J.F.K. and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends (which was also huge),” Harris said in a statement to TheNew York Times.

Hours before the accident, the former stand-up comic met with close friend Edward Reynoso at home in Queens and told him, “I love you, I appreciate you,” Reynoso revealed to the New York Daily News
