From skyline-defining supertalls to luxury towers reshaping neighborhoods, a new generation of skyscrapers is rising.
Here are 10 notable U.S. skyscrapers under construction in 2026, according to the Council on Vertical Urbanism’s Skyscraper Center, each poised to leave its mark on the nation’s cityscapes.
The Torch
Located in New York, construction on the 52-floor supertall hotel began in 2022, with completion expected by 2028, according to Skyscraper Center.
Time Out reported that the 325-meter (1067-foot) building’s spire—which will resemble a torch—will feature an attraction that lifts visitors to the top of the spire before dropping 300 feet in transparent tubes. The building will also feature a traditional observation deck and a glass-bottomed elevator capable of transporting passengers up around 1,000 feet in less than a minute, according to the outlet.
Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences
Under construction in Miami, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences is expected to reach 1,041 feet when it is completed in 2028, according to The Skyscraper Center…
