Senior found dead in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS – A 90-YEAR-OLD WOMAN was discovered unresponsive on a Crown Heights street in front of an apartment building on Monday morning, Gothamist reports. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene. This brings the total number of people found dead outdoors over the weekend to eight, following days of deathly low temperatures and Winter Storm Fern.

Police are withholding the woman’s identity pending family notification; as with the other seven deaths, including two in Brooklyn, the city’s medical examiner will investigate.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani said on Monday that the city had helped over 170 people into shelters over the weekend, while Department of Social Services Commissioner Molly Wasow Park said that three individuals were forcibly hospitalized…
