ICE Arrests Captured in Dramatic Videos, Local Officials Decry Enforcement Activity

Local officials have confirmed that federal immigration enforcement agents apprehended multiple people Sunday morning at and near the 9th Street–Congress Street light rail station, on the border of Hoboken and Jersey City. Some of the arrests were captured on video by observers.

Hoboken Mayor Emily Jabbour said in a social media video that “several” individuals were apprehended Sunday morning from both the train and the platform area at the Ninth and Congress streets station. Jabbour said the Hoboken Police Department was not involved in the raid, and that she and Hoboken City Councilman Joe Quintero visited the station and spoke to two eyewitnesses to the arrests.
